			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Yesterday at the grocery store, I came across a child, who was about 8-years-old. She was lying on the floor flailing her arms and legs yelling I want a chocolate bar. I could have predicted the outcome. The child continued to scream until mom put a chocolate bar in the cart. The crying ceased instantly.</p>
<p>As they passed, I took note of the contents of the grocery cart &#8211; Coco Puffs cereal, soda, 3 bulk bags of potato chips, chocolate covered granola bars, macaroni &#038; cheese, hot dogsyou get the drift. Try as I might I couldnt help but feel scared for that childs future. </p>
<p>You see, a long time ago I was that obese little girl. I was unhappy with my body, but I dulled the pain by eating  chips, chocolate bars, hotdogs. I threw tantrums because I knew my mother didnt have the patience and would just give me what I wanted. </p>
<p>By the age of 12 I was 4-foot, 11-inches and 135-pounds. My doctor put me on a restrictive diet. However, I would steal money from my parents to buy candy. It didnt make sense to me. I was allowed to eat those foods before. Why were punishing me? I hated myself more. </p>
<p>In the early 80s, being a fat child was rare. However in 2006 one in three North American kids are overweight. Both parents likely have full time jobs, which means less time for healthy meals and exercise. Fast food and activities have taken over the family roost.</p>
<p>Im sorry I have to lay this responsibility on the parents, but kids only practice what you preach. If they see you eating poorly; theyll follow suit.</p>
<p>Practice what you preach by adopting and enforcing these FitnessGear101.com family lifestyle changes</p>
<p>	Explain the difference between health food choices and non-healthy food choices.<br />
	Sit down and compile a weekly grocery lists with your child.<br />
	Let them go with you to the grocery store and shop only for the foods on the list.<br />
	Get kids involved in preparing healthy meals, so they adopt healthy habits for life.<br />
	Its normal to shelter our kids from ridicule. However if your child is obese their health is at risk and tough love encouragement is needed, for example honey, you are overweight, but I believe in you and Ill support you because I love you.<br />
	Never use food as a reward. Instead reward them with mini-golfing or baseball.<br />
	Ditch the clean-plate policy. If your child is full, don&#8217;t force them to finish.<br />
	Institute an open policy about food. Kids should be comfortable telling you when theyre hungry and not hungry without fear youll get mad.<br />
	Don&#8217;t eliminate snacks. It will lead to lying and binge eating outside the home. Instead plan a cheat meal once a week when theyre allowed any foods they want.<br />
	Encourage physical activity. It will get them up and out and encourage them to socialize with other active kids.<br />
	Never allow eating in front of the TV. This encourages passive eating, and the child wont concentrate on how much theyre eating or when theyre full.<br />
	Limit TV or video games to 1 hour per day. The rest of the time, keep them busy with outdoor activities.</p>

<p>When we drift off to sleep, we either fall into a deep, restful sleep, or into a shallow, light sleep. It becomes obvious that if you experience a deep sleeping for few hours, it will be better than sleeping for long hours while experiencing a shallow sleeping as you will find yourself very tired, and your body is exhausted when you wake up.</p>
<p>Napoleon Bonaparte, who was not a good sleeper, had advocated six hours sleep for a man, seven for a woman and eight for a fool</p>
<p>Many studies make it clear that the amount of sleep each person needs varies and depends on many factors, including age. Infants generally require about 16 hours a day, while teenagers need about 9 hours on average. For most adults, 7 to 8 hours a night appears to be the best amount of sleep, although some people may need as few as 5 hours or as many as 10 hours of sleep each day. Women in the first 3 months of pregnancy often need several more hours of sleep than usual. The amount of sleep a person needs also increases if he or she has been deprived of sleep in previous days. Getting too little sleep creates a &#8220;sleep debt,&#8221; which is much like being overdrawn at a bank. Eventually, your body will demand that the debt be repaid.</p>

		<description><![CDATA[When Mike turned 65, he was 25 pounds overweight. By strict dieting, he shed the extra pounds, but he lost more weight; he also lost his energy and vitality. He was always exhausted, and his friends, seeing his gaunt, drawn face, worried about his health.

By the time volunteered for a particular fitness program two years later, he had put 25 extra pounds back on. After 6 months of exercise and some willpower at the dinner table, Mike slimmed down again. This time he felt better than he ever had, brimming with energy and glowing with good health.

What made the difference? The first time Mike lost weight; the second time he lost fat. The distinction is important. According to research, a large portion of the weight lost by dieting alone is active tissue, such as muscle and connective tissue, while a smaller fraction is excess fat. Exercise has the opposite effect. It increased his lean body mass and decreased his excess fat.

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Most people tend to think that cellulites are only present to people who are obese. That is why they sometimes associate cellulite with fats and obesity.</p>
<p>Actually, even if cellulite refers to the chain of wrinkled fat cells and subcutaneous connective tissues beneath the layer of the skin, it should never be associated with people who are fat or obese. In fact, there are many people who have cellulite but are not fat at all.</p>
<p>In reality, nobody knows the main reason why some people accumulate cellulite. However, there are some factors that health experts are considering such as the structure of the fat cells or the poison that entered the body. Some experts say it may be caused by some hormonal changes in the body. But none of these things has been proven to cause cellulites.</p>
<p>However, the only main reason why most of the cellulite cases are abundant in women is that the connective tissues of women are more rigid and firm than men. Hence, whenever a woman gets fat, the fatty cells tend to swell and get bigger. It creates a protruding appearance to the skin producing an orange peel look.</p>
<p>For this reason, women are more prone to cellulite than men. That is why it is important for women to be more careful on their body as they have higher chances of accumulating cellulite.</p>
<p>Fats and Cellulite</p>
<p>With the many cases of obese people having cellulites in their body, most of them believed that their cellulites are caused by being too fat.</p>
<p>Even though not all those who are obese develop cellulites, being overweight can really trigger the development of cellulites. This is because too much fat under the skin tend to push the connective tissue creating a strain on the skin. Thus, cellulites form. </p>
<p>However, this is still dependent on the structure of the cells. If an individuals cell structure does not inhibit the tendency to bulge or expand even if fat deposits accumulate, then there will be no cellulites.</p>
<p>So, the most important thing to remember here is to keep those connective tissues firm and strong and avoid accumulating excess fats so as to avoid the development of cellulite.</p>
<p>How? Start an exercise routine program.</p>
<p>Transforming food into fat seems all too easy for most of us. Losing fat is far more difficult, and to accomplish this, we have only three alternatives 1 decrease food intake and keep activity constant; 2 increase activity and keep food intake constant; or 3 combine both approaches diet and exercise.</p>
<p>Physical activity can help reverse the results of inactivity. An hour of vigorous exercise burns up 300 to 600 calories. If you also cut 300 to 500 calories from your daily menu, you can also lose weight at the rate of one to two pounds a week.</p>
<p>Without exercise, you would have to eat 500 to 1,000 fewer calories a day to lose the same number of pounds in a week. Exercise is not for everyone who is over-fat, however. The severely obese person should exercise only under medical supervision to prevent strain on the cardiovascular system and connective tissue. And no one should restrict food intake drastically without consulting doctor.</p>
<p>Resorting to this kind of activity will only get the matter worse. Remember what happened to Mike? He thought that when he started dieting, he would eventually lose all the excess fats he has accumulated. The problem is that he lost those connective tissues rather than excess fat. </p>
<p>For people who are prone to cellulites, this will be a greater problem. Losing connective tissues instead of fat by strict dieting can only make the skin more prone to greater problems but the fat cells are still there. That only means that the problem is not solved at all.</p>
<p>Hence, if you wish to loose those cellulites, it would be better to loose those fats first. The idea here is to burn those fats by increasing your metabolism by 7.5 to 28 more than your normal rate.</p>
<p>It is for this reason that exercising is an important factor in losing cellulite. So for a more cellulite free body, always engage in an exercise routine.</p>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Everybody knows that it is important to be fit. Your level of fitness is a major factor in your lifespan, and getting in shape should be a priority. There are plenty of celebrities, whether qualified or not, offering to sell you their latest fitness video or book, and more and more articles in newspapers and magazines about the cost of not having a daily workout; the impact on your health, the social effects of being unfit, and of course the fact that most fashionable clothes dont come in plus sizes. Getting fit should be on your to-do list all year round, and not just a New Years resolution that doesnt make it past the first few days of January.</p>
<p>It is easy to start a fitness regime, and then run out of enthusiasm. With a busy work schedule, and an equally busy social life, its a common enough occurrence that people drop out of exercising on the basis that they dont have enough time. The most obvious answer to this, and something that most fitness instructors will suggest, is just to get out of bed a bit earlier, and use that time to exercise. Of course, to some this may seem like a nightmare, and not something to inspire them; nightowls should look for something to do in the evening, perhaps a late workout session at the gym, or installing some home exercise equipment so that you can watch TV as the same time as working out.</p>
<p>Not everyone is suited to a traditional fitness regime of steps and dancercise. You might find it rewarding to try other methods to keep fit, such as martial arts. It is not important how you get fit only the results matter. If you find that you enjoy fencing, for example, then that will extend your enthusiasm for your fitness regime. Doing something that you hate, or which you feel stupid doing, wont last very long.</p>
<p>Keep your enthusiasm up in other ways, by working out to favourite tracks, or by keeping a log of how well youve done. You can work out with a friend and have a competition; or you can set yourself goals in your fitness regime, and reward yourself when you achieve them.</p>
<p>Fitness should be something that you work towards for all of your life, and a daily exercise routine will certainly help you achieve that goal. Even if your exercising consists of a short run everyday, and you never end up with a full six-pack, that does not matter. Fitness is not about getting the perfect body, it is about a general physical state where you feel more energetic, and you feel good about the way your body looks and works.</p>

<p>Use of flower essences is an extremely safe therapy for shifting emotional states which may be causing or perpetuating outward physiological illness. Developed by homeopath, naturopath, and allopath Dr. Edward Bach in the 1930&#8242;s, these liquid preparations are intended to work in subtle ways on one&#8217;s emotionalspiritual energetic patterns. Through repeated dosage, essences have helped individuals release &#8216;negative&#8217; emotions or fears, and support transformation to higher states of health and wellness.</p>
<p>While a few &#8216;formal&#8217; methods are given, there are no hard-and-fast rules for the use of flower essences. It can be best to begin with one of the &#8216;commonly&#8217; prescribed methods, and explore creative ways to incorporate the flowers into your life as you see fit. Flower essence therapy has a certain flexibility, and will likely be most effective when used in a way that feels right in your life. Here are a few guidelines to take into consideration</p>
<p>Frequency of Use</p>
<p>Most flower essences can be used directly from the &#8216;stock&#8217; bottle the dilution level at which essences are most often sold. A typical usage schedule is four drops directly in the mouth or added to a glass of water, four times daily. Because of the particularly dynamic nature of daily awakening and retiring, the most important times may be immediately upon waking, and just before going to sleep. The other two times may be before lunch and upon arriving home at the end of a workday &#8211; whatever times might best suit your daily rhythms. Some folks apply essences to their heart chakra, pulse points on their wrists, or on their forehead; essences can be dropped in a bath or added to a spray bottle and sprayed about a room or house more about further dilution in a minute. Sixteen drops can also be added to a water bottle and taken throughout the day  this is a very effective method for those with a busy schedule who otherwise may forget to take their essences.</p>
<p>Duration of Use</p>
<p>Because flower essences work on an emotional level, sometimes described as the &#8216;soul level&#8217;, it is important to remember that changes may best be made gradually. Flower essence therapy has been most successful when the essences are taken regularly, most often for the period of about 1 month, for changes in &#8216;core&#8217; emotional issues to be seen. Some essences, like Rescue Remedy, are blended to have an effect regarding a recent minutes, hours, days traumatic event. <p>Dilution and Blending</p>

The receiving bottle should either be new, or boiled in water to remove old residue &#8211; because of the nature of flower essences, they can pick up etheric vibration left over. Also, whenever using flower essences from the stock bottle, be conscious of not touching the dropper tip to anything &#8211; your tongue, hands, another bottle, etc. &#8211; to help maintain the vibrational purity of the flower essence.</p>
<p>Dilution Effects</p>
<p>Dilution of the essences will have different effects for different; Some do not find the effect as pronounced with a dilution from the stock level, while others find the effect just as significant. Dilution is usually best, however, for children &#8211; either from a dosage bottle or from the stock bottle into a glass of water this can also be good for alcohol-sensitive persons, because of the small amount of brandy in every drop. If you chose not to dilute and are making a blend, simply add equal amounts of each essence to a clean dropper bottle and use from there unless you intend to have more of one essence than another. </p>
<p>Misting Your Environment</p>
<p>Misting your environment is also an effective means to surround yourself with the energies of your essences. To use as a spray to mist your home, office, or other environment, a dilution in spring water is best. Also, glass bottles are preferred over plastic, as almost every type of plastic has been shown to release at least a little residue into the water.</p>
<p>Pets and Plants</p>
<p>Animals and pets respond wonderfully to flower essences, perhaps because of their lack of expectations or any &#8216;resistance&#8217; to being healed. If giving flower essences to pets, it&#8217;s usually easiest to add drops, perhaps 4 per day, to their water bowl. Success has also been noted with misting growing plants &#8211; particularly with Rescue Remedy when transplanting or repotting.</p>

<p>It would stand to reason that if diets worked and eighty percent of the overweight people in the USA are on a diet at any given time then percentage would begin to fall. However it does not! There are still fifty percent of Americans overweight and this percentage is rising every year.</p>
<p>Unfortunately the statistics also show us that the majority of people who actually do lose weight after following a diet regain all the weight in a very short time. These people do not get the basics correct before they start their weight loss plan. Therefore, if you plan to begin a weight lose diet you must ensure that you get the basics correct so you do not become just another statistic!</p>
<p>In this New Age of Information Technology there are all kinds of diets, pills. Potions and plans at your fingertips which you can easily access with the click of a mouse button. Due to the vast array of choices, combined with so many different opinions, it can become overwhelming and seem impossible to decide which one is the best for you. It is essential therefore that before you begin investigating methods for losing weight you take some initial steps. Here are a several valuable tips to begin with.</p>
<p>Start by consulting a professional who specializes in weight loss. This does not mean someone who runs weight-watchers or your next door neighbour who lost 20 lbs in 2 weeks! Begin your search for such a person by contacting your own doctor. Although your own doctor will probably not specialize in weight loss or nutition he or she is a highly trained professional who has a thorough working knowledge of the human body. In additional heshe will very likely be able to recommend a more specialised practitioner and give you contact information. </p>
<p>Next &#8211; watch your fat intake and the fat content of the foods you are buying. Many times people launch into a diet and watch every tiny calorie they consume but fail to read the fat content on the label of their food products. Calories do count but fat is a much more important consideration. Fat is a huge factor in weight gain and by eliminating as much of it from your diet you can lose weight without it overly adversely affecting the amount of food you eat. By reducing your fat intake you will see a dramatic effect on your overall weight-loss and on your health! </p>

Many diets and weight loss plans can be very dangerous and health threatening. Make sure your plan is followed to the letter as you may be doing damage that you are unaware of if you do not. For example, a very low calorie diet that is within the recommended calorie-intake level, can cause long-lasting harmful effects to your body if you start skipping meals!</p>
<p>Once you begin make sure you write all your positive gains into your food diary. Do not berate yourself if you fall short on your goals. Be sure to give yourself the appropriate positive approval when you do succeed. Praise yourself for reaching each goal, even if you didnt lose the weight you wanted congratulate yourself when you follow your plan  you are proving to yourself that you have the will-power to do it!</p>
<p>Dont allow yourself to become too discouraged if you miss a target. You are still going in the right direction by staying focused and disciplined. Spoil yourself a little when you succeed. Buy yourself some new clothes for your new body and enjoy the fact that you have done your best. This is positive reinforcement and will help you to maintain your dietary plan and your weight in the long term.</p>
